WELCOME TO CONGREGATION BETH SHALOM!
We are pleased that you are considering joining our Conservative congregation in Pittsburgh. Congregation Beth Shalom has been a part of the Squirrel Hill community since 1917. While our history provides us with a rich heritage, embracing new congregants ensures that we will be here to serve generations to come. You are the future of Beth Shalom.
We know that joining a new congregation can be daunting, especially to those who have moved here from another city. We encourage you to get know other congregants, our rabbi, our cantor, and other staff by attending Shabbat services and by becoming actively involved in our programs and activities. We hope to get to know you so that we can connect you with the people, programs, groups and classes that complement your interests.
In addition to weekly Shabbat services and daily morning and evening services, we have a variety of adult programming, including an active Sisterhood (click here) and Men’s Club (click here). For families with children, we have an award-winning early childhood program for infants to preschoolers which spirals into our religious school. We also have regionally active chapters of Kadima and USY.
Finding a synagogue is an important component of any Jewish life. We appreciate your considering membership with our Congregation. We would be honored if you would join our continuing efforts to enhance G-d, Torah, and Israel in our Pittsburgh Jewish community.
Why Join a
Synagogue?
o Join to become a part of a
community
o Join for the many educational
opportunities provided for youth and adults
o Join so you can participate in social

o Join as mitzvah. Synagogues
provide an opportunity to ensure Jewish survival. Perpetuating Jewish

our community and the chance to reach out
to help those in need.
