Sisterhood is a place where women share friendships and appreciate the work of their hands, their minds, and their spirits. Sisterhood works to strengthen the synagogue and the broader community.

We offer a wide range of activities to attract women of all ages and at all stages. A few of our year-round gatherings are featured below:

Events and Programs
Lillian & Leo Gross Kesher Program – a series of educational programs that feature thought-provoking speakers
Mitzvah Connection – provides assistance such as meals, shopping, and visits to women and families in need of short term help due to illness or other life cycle events.
Sisterhood Shabbat – a Shabbat conducted by the women of Beth Shalom. Sisterhood members chant Torah and Haftorah, provide a special speaker, and sponsor a Kiddush luncheon for the entire congregation.
Torah Fund – raises money for institutions that train Conservative Movement clergy and educators.
Sisterhood Judaica Shop – located in the lobby of Congregation Beth Shalom, our shop offers merchandise by Israeli and American artisans. Sisterhood members volunteer to staff the shop on Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm. Stop by and shop or call for an appointment.

How to Join
On your monthly statement from the synagogue, simply circle or check the line that says Sisterhood. Dues for Sisterhood are $36.
All members of Sisterhood are automatic members of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism. To learn more about Women’s League, go to www.wlcj.org
