Life Cycle of Services

Beth Shalom is committed to providing quality informal Jewish education to the youths of the congregation. Through our four youth groups we aim to create a life long love for Judaism that will stay with our members as they enter their college years. These youth groups have been designed to harbor a fun, safe, and Jewish environment for their respective members to socialize and grow both physically and spiritually. We know that the addition of our newest groups Chaverim and Atid will help to educate, inspire, and excite them about both Kadima and USY. Thus helping to ensure a bright future for all groups in years to come.

USY-
USY is the conservative movement’s high school youth group. Beth Shalom’s chapter, BSUSY, is gearing up for an action packed year filled with numerous social, religious, and educational programs. Incorporated into this youth group is the ability to travel throughout the Midwest and even the world on conventions and summer programs. This allows our youth to be able to make new friends with other conservative Jewish teens throughout the country. Every Beth Shalom teen should be involved in USY. It is a great way for them to explore their Judaism in a fun informal environment. USY is for young adults in the 9th through 12th grade.

Kadima-
Kadima is the conservative movement’s junior high youth group for students in the 6th-8th grade. Members in Kadima participate in lounge nights and numerous events throughout the year. Beth Shalom’s Kadima group will also participate in this years Kadima Kinnus which we were fortunate to hold here last year. Kadima provides a place for our youth to see old friends and make new ones.

Atid-
NEW!! To Beth Shalom this year Atid (future) will be a youth group for young students in the 3rd through 5th grade. Atid is an exciting new project that will allow kids to experience the joys of Beth Shalom’s youth programming. Atid will hold four events over the course of the next year that will include such things as going to the zoo and a chocolate seder. Atid is an exciting new venture for the Beth Shalom community.

Chaverim-
NEW!! Chaverim (friends) is an interactive youth group for the Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. This youth group invites parents to participate side by side with their children as we celebrate Judaism through innovative and fun programs here at the synagogue.
